About
A creative mind through and through, I have always been drawn to the arts. I started photography at a young age and was instantly enamored. I found myself framing scenes in my head and thinking of ways to capture as I see. I decided to pursue this passion at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where I grew a new interest through the formal training. I worked for a short period of time in New York with In Style Magazine, which combined my other love of fashion with photography and I was sold. Taking the summer to live in Aspen following graduation, I was planning on heading to New York in the fall… and as they say, the rest is history! I fell in love with Aspen’s beautiful surroundings as well as my now husband. Since in Aspen I have worked as a freelance photographer, had a pop up gallery, owned/operated/photographed The Scout Guide Aspen. I recently sold TSG and am back to focusing on my true passion, photography! You can still find my photography in the guide as I love the publication! I like to keep myself on my feet and always working towards creating something new!
My goal is to try and make a connection with my subject, whether it’s a person or landscape, and then follow the light to create a beautiful image. I like to approach my clients by easing them in to the shoot and getting them comfortable as opposed to just staging them. I find by doing this, you capture their true expressions and personality.
“Life is like a camera… focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot.”
